About the Role
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility support
- Provide companionship through conversation, shared activities, and emotional support
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding, if necessary
- Perform light housekeeping duties (laundry, dishes, tidying, etc.)
- Remind clients to take prescribed medications (no administering)
- Provide transportation or accompany clients to appointments or errands, as needed
- Monitor clients’ physical and emotional well-being and report changes to supervisor or family
- Follow individualized care plans with attention to dignity, safety, and respect
- Maintain accurate care notes and communicate clearly with the care team and families
Requirements
High school diploma or GED required
Minimum 1 year of caregiving experience (professional or personal); CNA or HHA certification a plus
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if providing transport)
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
Clear communication skills and ability to speak, read, and write English
Compassionate, dependable, and trustworthy with a strong work ethic
Physically able to lift, assist, and perform light housekeeping
Comfortable working independently in a home environment
Patience and sensitivity when working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those with memory challenges
